School head checks

I have always been a big fan of schools that do regular head lice checks. From experaince I know that the schools who do this have a much lower rate of head lice occurances. With 6 year old twins in grade one this year, I feel appreciative that my school has a lice commitee that provides head checks. My only issue is the timing. My children are being screened for lice today. An odd time if you ask me. In my oppinion, lice checks are best done after any school breaks such as summer holidays, March break and after the Christmas breaks. Thankfully I take a peak once a week so I have no worries concerning my kids. If children are likely to have lice become an issue in the school it would be after a holiday and not before. Yet I am thankful for any school wide screening that my school does. I just hope they are as dillegent in re-checking kids when they come back. If your school does nothave a no nit policy or lice program you can learn more about it by visiting my web site. We can train a lice commitee at your school or provide this essential service. Thanks for reading today. Be well.
